China and France have worked together to build an international biodiversity research network, the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ACC) announced.

The research network was founded by research teams from ACC and France’s National Center for Scientific Research and is dedicated to jointly responding to global concerns such as biodiversity loss, animal disease epidemics, and ecosystem dysfunction.

Zhu Chaodong, executive director of the research network, said that in the future, the network will focus on the impacts and mechanisms of the environment, climate change and human disturbances on biodiversity loss and biological invasions. In addition to providing solutions for biodiversity conservation and promoting related public education and student training, Zhu added.
