As part of the sixth edition of the Presidential Innovation Award, held at the Taiwanese capital, Taipei, on April 24, outstanding creative minds were recognized for their innovative solutions to various challenges.
This Award is a recognition granted in Taiwan to individuals and companies that stand out for their significant contribution to advancement and innovation in various fields. It is an initiative organized by the Ministry of Economy in collaboration with the Presidential Office. It recognizes both leading innovation companies and prominent figures in the business and academic community for their outstanding achievements in the field of innovation and technological development.
The jury awarded collective awards to companies such as E Ink Holdings, Bora Pharmaceuticals and Zeczec Co., as well as notable individuals such as Lin Burn-jeng, dean of the Semiconductor Research School at National Tsinghua University, and Liu Keng-ming, founder of the design company Bito.
During the ceremony, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen praised the awardees for their contribution to innovation, highlighting their role as drivers of the country’s economic and technological progress.
The alliance between Taiwan and Japan in higher education
The leader specifically praised E Ink for its leadership in electronic paper and Bora Pharmaceuticals for its attention to the needs of diverse clients, including the development of new drugs. She also recognized the value of Zeczec as a microfinancing platform for startups in the cultural and creative sphere.
Tsai highlighted the importance of individual figures like Lin and Liu, noting their contributions to Taiwan’s rise in the global semiconductor industry and creative design, respectively.
