China helped Egypt launch a remote sensing satellite into orbit from the Jiuquan Launch Center on Monday.

The MISRSAT-2 satellite, launched by a Long March-2C carrier rocket, will be used in land and resource utilization, water conservation, agriculture and other areas in Egypt.

MISRSAT-2 is a flagship project of in-depth cooperation between China and Egypt in high aerospace technology and is of significant importance in aerospace cooperation between the two countries, according to the China National Space Administration.

This was the 499th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series. The Starpool 02-A and Starpool 02-B remote sensing satellites were also sent into space at the same time.
